NQ Schoolboys finish QRFSU State Titles in 3rd place after winning on the buzzer

The North QLD Under 18s Schoolboys have finished the QRFSU State Titles on a high after downing Pool B rivals Capricornia 13 - 12 on the final whistle in the playoff for third. Head coach John Rauch sang the praises of the team for their outstanding efforts after narrowly missing a Final berth with a loss in the Semi Final the day before against eventual carnival champs South Coast. NQ Schoolboys Secure Semi Final spot at QRFSU State Titles

The North QLD Schoolboys Under 18s side have started their State Champs Titles campaign strongly this week winning 3 from their 4 pool games on Thursday and Friday. The Northern side is made up of players from Townsville, Ingham, Charters Towers, Burdekin and the Proserpine/Whitsundays regions. Zambrero's First Grade wrap up- Round 6

Round 6 proved to be another great weekend of 1st Grade rugby. Ross River Redskins brought in their 50th celebrations in style at home against North Ward. Brothers Travelled to Casalegno Park in Ayr to face the Burdekin with both teams fresh and eager for a win after a long break due to Easter and the NQ Country Champs. A Confident Teachers West faced off against a Charters Towers Bulls  team willing to improve on their 7-point loss to Redskins in round 5 at Mike Carney Toyota Park. 

Rookies2Reds at Ryan Catholic College

Townsville and District Rugby Union is now going to be running its next Rookies2Reds program in 2 weeks time. After the recent Term 1 Holiday Clinics, TDRU along with the QRU have teamed up with local Townsville School - Ryan Catholic College, to deliver their after school Rugby Union Program.

 

28 CASTROL Senior Brolgas players selected in North QLD Squads

The North Qld Country Squads have been named ahead of the QLD Country Championships being held in Bundaberg from the 2nd to the 4th of June this year. Following the dominant performance of the Brolgas Under 19s and Mens teams on the weekend, 28 Brolgas from five different Townsville clubs have been selected to play for North QLD and vie for selection in the QLD Country Heelers team to tour New Zealand later this year.
