Conrad Gargett 1st Grade Competition Weekly Wrap

 

 

 Buckle yourselves in and get ready for a trip around the grounds in another intriguing round of the Conrad Gargett 1st Grade competition!! This week’s action saw a showdown between Teachers West and Charters Towers at home, as well as Burdekin and JCU clashing in Ayr, and finally North Ward taking on Ross River at Mike Carney Toyota Park.

Rookies2Reds

 

These school holidays, the TDRU will be running 4 Rookies2Reds holiday clinics in partnership with Brothers Junior Rugby Union Club Townsville, Teachers West Rugby Union Club, Burdekin Rugby Union Canetoads, North Ward Sandcrabs. If your child is aged 5-12 and hungry for more Rugby over the school holidays, get them involved with one of these action packed days.

Conrad Gargett 1st Grade Competition Weekly Wrap

 

Buckle yourselves in and get ready for a trip around the grounds in another fascinating round of the Conrad Gargett 1st Grade competition!! This week’s action saw a determined University outfit take on North Ward Old Boys at Mike Carney Toyota Park. Burdekin hosted a travelling Brothers side down in Ayr. In the final game, Ross River looked to upstage the undefeated premiership heavyweights Teachers West.

2018 Primary School Gala Day Wrap Up

 

Last Friday saw the annual primary school Gala day take place with a full day of action packed rugby. Schools flocked in from around the region to participate in what is a wonderful day on the Primary school rugby calendar. There was a total of 12 schools that registered for the day with 17 teams in total, some schools had enough numbers to put forward two teams. The teams were divided up into a senior and junior competition. Below is a list of all the schools that participated in each division:

Queensland Country Rugby Recap 

 

Last weekend saw a big weekend at Mike Carney Toyota Park, with North Queensland playing host to the Queensland Country Rugby Championships. This saw a team from Central Queensland and South Queensland travel up to Townsville. North Queensland teams were formed in the U19 and Open age groups from the Cairns and Townsville regions. The U19 boys placed 2nd overall, with the men winning the opens Country Championships for the first time in four years.
