Townsville Orthopaedics & Sports Surgery Japan Tour 2018

Match 4- Townsville Brolgas 33 def Sano Nihon High School 28

The Brolgas had the lions share of the footy in the early stages of the game but showed signs of rust making mistakes early giving up possession. Pressure on the Brolgas scrum in the midfield saw the locals playing tight before spreading it wide into space and the winger looking a sure thing to score in the corner, if it wasn’t for fullback Declan Maguire (Brothers) who bundled him over the sideline ball and all.

Townsville Orthopedics & Sports Surgery Match 5

Brolgas 50 def Rikkyo Niiza High School 12

Early mistakes put the Brolgas under pressure again as the team proved not the best at starting matches against the helter skelter of the Japanese. Despite this however they quickly turned pressure on them into points as a breakdown turnover went wide to back rower Jimmi Thompson (Teachers West) who offloaded to lock Zac Speet (Teachers West) to pin the ears back and score in the corner from 30m out. Thompson then converted for the Townsville team to lead 7-0.
