2016 Japan Tour Updates

The 2016 Under 18 Japan Tour is underway! the Team left on Friday the 25th of March for the 2 week trip on the island of Kyushu. Stay tuned to this Article for Updates on how the team is going and results.

Happy Easter from the TDRU

The team at the TDRU wishes you a great and safe holidays this Easter! Good luck to the Under 18 Schoolboys Brolgas team who travel to Japan tomorrow in a tour which will see them visit the Fukuoka region. Senior Rugby starts back next weekend while the Juniors have a couple of weeks off. Enjoy the break!

Townsville Brolgas invited back to the Queensland Rugby Union Junior State Championships.

This year the Brolgas will be taking 4 teams to the Gold Coast in the Under 12, 13, 14 and 16 Age Groups to compete in the State Champs from the 1st to the 3rd of July. We are calling for staff interested in Coaching and Managing a team. Please download the following link for information on how to apply. Player nominations will open after the Easter Holidays.

Senior Brolgas Squad named for Anzac Day and North Queensland Championships

The 2016 Senior Brolgas Mens squad to compete in the Annual Anzac Day game against the 3rd Brigade and the North Queensland Championships has been named. The team features many returning faces from last years Championship team as well as a host of new faces, with a few players moving up the ranks from the Queensland Country Under 20's team. The Brolgas will go into training next week as they prepare for the Representative season, which will see them play against the Army on ANZAC Day before travelling up to Cairns to play against Mackay, Mt Isa and Cairns. The Women's team, set to be named later on in the week will follow the same path as the men, playing in the ANZAC Day clash before competing in the NQ Championships for the first time. 2016 Dudley Jones Cup Week 2 

Week 2 of the Townsville A Grade competition kicked off last weekend with some exciting match ups and results to boot. Ross River faced off against Burdekin on Friday Night down at Casalegno field, while North Ward Old Boys took on Brothers at Mike Carney Toyota Park in the first game of the afternoon on Saturday, with Western Suburbs and Teachers West following after.
