Inaugural Girls Brolgas 7s Squads Announced

 Last Sunday saw the inaugural trials for U15 and U17 Girls Junior Brolgas State Championship teams. Both age groups were well represented from all clubs with girls travelling from as far as Hughenden to attend the trials. The unprecedented number of triallists that attended comes off the back of a brand new 11 team Teenage Girls Rugby Competition that is underway currently with Finals starting next week and the Grand Finals set to be played as the Curtain Raisers to the Queensland Country vs Melbourne Rising NRC match on Sunday the 9th of September. Conrad Gargett 1st Grade Weekly Wrap

 

 

After a tough week for some teams, round 19 of the Conrad Gargett 1st Grade competition saw a few teams try to rebuild with less than a month until finals. This week in the competition Teachers West took on Charters Towers at home, and Burdekin made the trip up to Townsville to take on University at home. Click read more for a full recap...

After a relaxing week off for the competition, all teams entered round 18 of the Conrad Gargett 1st Grade competition hungrier than ever. This week in the competition Teachers West took on Ross River at home, Burdekin made the trip up to Townsville to take on Brothers, and University took on North Ward. ARMY RUGBY | Inter Unit 10-a-side competition

Last week we saw some highly exciting rugby contested in the Army Inter-Unit 10s competition. The 10-a-side rugby gave the Army players a chance to put their skills on display against each other, building hype for the upcoming Army vs Townsville Brolgas game at the end of the year. This Thursday more games will be held at Mike Carney Toyota park from 1pm-4pm, feel free to come along and watch the matches with free entry all day.

U15 North Queensland Schoolboys 

 

Recently the U15 North Queensland side, made up of boys from Proserpine, Townsville, Bowen, Burdekin and Charters Towers, travelled down to Brisbane to take on competition from all over the state at the annual U15 QRFSU State Titles. The boys were outstanding. The best defensive team that has represented Northern U15 in 10yrs. They were courageous, tenacious, tough and committed to doing their best for every minute of the carnival. This led to some pleasing results. Click read more for results.
