Three Zinc 100.7 Townsville Brolgas Players selected in Queensland Country Squad to tour New Zealand next month.

Teachers West’s Kris Neilsen and Kit Horwood and Burdekin’s Shane Kennedy have been selected as part of The Queensland Country Heelers team to play NSW Country and tour New Zealand in July. After strong showings in a valiant North Queensland side at the Queensland Country Championships held over the weekend they have proven their worth in a well-deserved call up.

 

Winter Brolga Academy

Registrations are now open for the second Brolga Academy of the year, being held in the  term 2 school holidays on the 6th and 7th of July. To download the registration form click the link below. The Brolga academy is open to any junior aged 7-12 years old in 2016. It is a great way to have some fun on the holidays make some new friends and learn a heap of new rugby skills.

North Queensland teams ready for State Champs

The senior men and under 19 North Queensland teams are prepped for a strong performance at the 2016 Queensland Country Championships. The teams comprised of players form Townsville, Cairns, Mount Isa and Mackay are ready to take on the best rugby talent from Central and South Queensland. Click read more for a full wrap and draw. 

Under 15 NQ Schoolboy's team named

Trials to select the 2016 under 15 North Queensland Schoolboy's side were held on Tuesday at Mike Carney Toyota Park. The trials witnessed great numbers with many schools from across the district, including Bowen, Charters Towers, Ingham, the Burdekin and Townsville nominating players. The day was a great showcase of regional rugby talent and a strong side has been selected to represent North Queensland later this year at the State Champs in Ipswich. Holcim Senior A Grade Week 10

As the midway point of the season came to fruition close games and upsets were on offer as a shake up in the competition meant plenty going forward into the Bye week. Ross River Redskins played host to the Top of the Table Teachers West outfit, Burdekin travelled to Ignatius Park Oval to take on Brothers and North Ward Old Boys and Western Suburbs met at Mike Carney Toyota Park.
