Holcim Senior A Grade Week 8

It was another great round of Rugby action with games being played at venues all around the region last week. Burdekin looked to continue their ominous form at home against a Western Suburbs team who were eager to bounce back after their loss against Teachers West the week prior. Teachers West hosted their first Home Game of the season down at Warrina Park when they played North Ward Old Boys and Brothers met Ross River Redskins in another classic matchup between the two teams at Mike Carney Toyota Park.

Holcim Senior A Grade Week 7

After a week-long break due to Brolgas representative commitments all the teams returned to action for their 7th game of the season. Nearing the half way point of the Calendar Year, Clubs looked to gain momentum on the field as the thought of Finals Rugby comes ever closer. North Ward Old Boys, still searching for their first win, played host to a Brothers outfit that looked to get their season back on track after consecutive losses. Teachers West met a resurgent Western Suburbs side in the preliminary game at Mike Carney Toyota Park, while Ross River Redskins and Burdekin rounded off the Weekends games.

North Queensland Under 19 and Senior Men Teams selected

The North Queensland Championships were held this past weekend with The Zinc FM Brolgas going undefeated in all 3 grades. Selections were also made for the North Queensland Under 19 and Senior Men Teams which will see them travel down to The Gold Coast for the Queensland Country Championships from the 3rd - 5th of June.  Holcim Senior A Grade Week 6

The second round of the Senior Holcim A Grade Competition kicked off last weekend with a couple of convincing victories and a game that came down to the last kick of the match. Traditional rivals Teachers West and Brothers clashed, while Western Suburbs looked to close the gap between themselves and Ross River when they met each other in the second game of the day at Mike Carney Toyota Park. Burdekin made the trip up to The Sports Reserve where they faced off against a North Ward Old Boys team still searching for their first win.

Final Senior Brolgas Squad named for North Queensland Championships.

A 25 man squad was announced today to compete in the Senior NQ Championships to be held in Cairns this Weekend. There are a few changes to the team that ran on in the 20-12 win against The Third Brigade on ANZAC Day with players returning from injury, ready to get stuck in to Representative Rugby.
