Ted Vinson wins Asteron Community Coach of the Year

Coach of the Charters Towers Bulls Rugby Union team Ted Vinson was awarded the 2015 Asteron Life Community Coach of the Year.
Asteron Life partnered with Australian Rugby Union for the second year running to recognise the important role coaches play in the development of young players.
They selected Ted from a record 328 nominations received.

Suncorp Life CEO Geoff Summerhayes and Qantas Wallabies Head Coach Michael Cheika (pictured) presented Ted with the national award. His prize includes a cash grant for his club, and a special visit from Chieka.
Ted, who has almost four decades of experience on the field, thanked Asteron Life for the positive impact the award will have on the North Queensland region.
“This funding means we will not only be able to relieve the pressure on local volunteers and sponsors, but that we will also be able to continue to maintain and grow regional teams,” he said.

Mark Vilo, Executive Manager at Asteron Life said it was vital to recognise coaches like Ted for the immeasurable value they add to the rugby community.“We are so proud of the Asteron Life Community Coach of the Year program and are thrilled to support community rugby in Australia. This is a great way to recognise the hard work of coaches who give up so much of their time for the game – for today and tomorrow’s players”.

The Townsville and District Rugby union congratulates Ted on his wonderful achievement and his award is truly deserved.
