Under 15's Schoolboys State Championships - Results Day 1

The Under 15's Schoolboys State Championships kicked off today at Mike Carney Toyota Park. Two tough games today for the Northern boys, where they were pushed to their limits and tested by Darling Down and Met North. 


Game 1:

In the first game of the day for Northern Queensland they took on Darling Downs. In tough contest between the two teams the game ended in draw, 22 points all. Players to mention were try scorers Philip Kucharski, Tyrese Brown and Rakeem Lind. Player of the match was awarded to Nicholas Audas-Ryan for his outstanding performance.

Game 2:

In their game of the day for Northern, the team took the field against Met North. The Brisbane were too strong for the Northern boys, crossing the line several times in their encounter. The final score for the game was 31 points to 5 in favour of Met North. One player to mention from the Northern team, who was the only try scorer for this match, was fullback Lachlan Maginnis. The player of the match, however, went to Gabriel Mooka for his performance today.

For anyone in Townsville from Friday to Sunday, feel free to come on down to Mike Carney Toyota and experience a high standard of rugby from teams that have travelled from all parts of Queensland. The Northern boys will be playing at 10:30am and 1pm, with other matches on before and after.
