Day 1

The Northern Schoolboys started Day 1 well with a good win over Met West 31 points to 19 despite some rusty areas of play. Tries went to front rower Daniel Conn (Brothers), Liam Prentice (Teachers West) and Ben Cornish (Proserpine Whitsunday Raiders), with winger Samuel Warner (Brothers) bagging a double and team mate Declan Maguire (Brothers) kicking 3 conversions. Man of the Match honours went to Connor Anderson (Teachers West) who had an outstanding performance.  The NQ Team were keen to carry their momentum into the second game of the day against Darling Downs and showed great improvement winning 27 points to 7 against the South Qld team. Prop Dan Conn scored a double with Ben Cornish (Proserpine Whitsunday Raiders) scoring again alongside club team mate Taine Brown. Maguire converted 2 tries and kicked a penalty. Brothers forward Jack Andreassen was a standout for the Northern Team taking the Man of the Match honours.

Day 2

After going two from two on Day 1 the team were keen to secure a Semi Final berth and only needed to secure a win against either Wide Bay or Capricornia. They did so in the first match with a dominant 26 nil win over Wide Bay with tries to Cristian Batic, Guy Cummins and Samuel Warner (Brothers) and Taine Brown (Proserpine Whitsunday Raiders) with Declan Maguire (Brothers) kicking 3 conversions. Charters Towers flanker Caleb Knuth was the standout for the Northern team collecting Man of the Match honours. In game two they faced off against a willing Capricornia side who were keen to top the pool. Ill discipline cost the Northern team with two yellow cards helping the Capricornia team to a 29 - 7 win. Northern's standout was Front Rower Daniel Conn who won Man of the Match honours.

With the pool rounds now finished Northern face the arduous task of taking on South Coast in the Semi Final tomorrow. South Coast finished at the top of their Pool with four from four wins. We wish the team all the best for the Semi Final tomorrow.
